Facade flags

Custom facade flags and shop flags make your business visible and show passing customers that you are open. Choose from printed wall-mounted flags, double-sided kiosk and window flags, banner flags and pole flags in various sizes, materials and finishes.

Facade flags

Printed facade flags make your business visible to passing customers and clearly show that you are open. Mounted at an angle to the building, they attract attention in shopping streets, at restaurants, hotels, offices, showrooms and event venues.

Amstel Printing offers several types of facade flags, including rectangular facade flags, distinctive kiosk flags and double-sided window flags. For permanent flagpoles, you can also choose pole flags, banner flags or custom-size flags.

Why choose a printed facade flag?

  • Clearly visible to pedestrians from both directions
  • Suitable for shops, hospitality venues, offices and events
  • Available in several sizes, materials and shapes
  • Choice of single- or double-sided visibility
  • Optional facade poles, holders and mounting accessories
  • Professionally printed in your own colours and design

Which facade flag should you choose?

The right flag depends on your building, mounting position, available space and the direction from which customers approach. Also consider whether you need the same design on both sides or whether a mirrored reverse image is sufficient.

Facade flag

The facade flag is a traditional rectangular flag for mounting to the outside of a building. It is attached to a facade pole using a tape, cord and loop. The pole is then placed in a facade pole holder.

The facade flag is printed on one side. Because the ink penetrates the flag fabric, the design is visible in mirror image on the reverse side. Choose from several standard sizes and three materials: standard Flag fabric, recycled Flag PET or extra-durable Flag Longlife.

Kiosk flag

The kiosk flag, also known as a shop flag, has a distinctive angled shape. It is a strong option for shops, market stalls, hospitality venues and other businesses that want to be noticed from both directions.

Choose single-sided Flag Longlife, with the design visible in mirror image on the reverse, or double-sided Banner 610. The double-sided version has a blockout layer, allowing a separate, correctly oriented print to be applied to each side.

Window flag

The window flag is designed for mounting directly to a glass surface. The optional pole and strong suction cup allow you to install the flag without drilling holes in the wall.

Window flags are printed double-sided on strong, opaque Banner 610 material. This makes the message correctly readable from both directions. The system can be removed or repositioned easily and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Flags for permanent flagpoles

If your business has a permanent flagpole anchored in the ground, choose a pole flag, banner flag or custom-size flag instead of a facade flag.

  • Pole flag:
available in horizontal and portrait formats and several standard sizes. Suitable for traditional flagpoles at business premises, hotels and event locations.
  • Banner flag:
a tall vertical flag for a flagpole with a horizontal banner arm. The arm keeps the design fully visible even when there is little or no wind.
  • Flag – custom format:
choose a portrait or landscape flag in your required dimensions, with several materials and finishing options available.

Single- or double-sided printing?

Most lightweight polyester flags are printed on one side. The sublimation ink penetrates the fabric, making the design visible in mirror image on the reverse. This is a lightweight and practical solution when a mirrored back is acceptable.

If the design must be correctly readable from both directions, choose a double-sided kiosk flag or window flag. These products use opaque Banner 610 material, preventing the two prints from showing through each other.

Choose the right flag material

  • Flag: the standard lightweight polyester fabric for general flag applications.
  • Flag PET: a more sustainable alternative made from 100% recycled PET bottles.
  • Flag Longlife: an extra-strong fabric with a special structure that reduces fraying.
  • Banner 610: a strong, opaque PVC material for double-sided kiosk and window flags.

Designing your facade flag

The complete printable surface can be personalised with your logo, colours, message or campaign design. Keep important text and logos away from seams, sleeves and edges. Use a short message, strong colour contrast and large typography so the flag remains easy to recognise from a distance.

You can upload your print-ready artwork during the ordering process. If you do not yet have a suitable design, contact us for help preparing the artwork.

Mounting and maintenance

Check whether you already have a suitable facade pole and holder. For many products, the matching pole, holder or mounting system can be ordered as an accessory.

Wind, rain and continuous outdoor exposure affect the lifespan of every flag. Bring the flag indoors during severe weather and from approximately wind force 6. Regularly inspect the seams, cord, loop, sleeve and mounting system. Most polyester flag fabrics can be washed at a maximum of 30°C using a mild detergent.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a facade flag and a kiosk flag?

A facade flag has a traditional rectangular shape and is normally printed on one side, with the design visible in mirror image on the reverse. A kiosk flag has a distinctive angled shape and is available with either single- or double-sided printing.

When should I choose a window flag?

Choose a window flag when you want to mount the flag directly to a glass surface without drilling holes. The optional pole and suction cup make the system easy to install, reposition and remove. The window flag is printed double-sided.

Is a facade flag printed on both sides?

A standard polyester facade flag is printed on one side. The ink penetrates the fabric, so the design is visible in mirror image on the reverse. For two correctly oriented prints, choose a double-sided kiosk flag or window flag made from opaque Banner 610.

Do I need a facade pole and holder?

Yes, a facade or kiosk flag normally requires a suitable facade pole and a holder fixed to the building. If you do not already have these components, check the available accessories on the product page.

Which flag should I choose for a permanent flagpole?

For a traditional flagpole anchored in the ground, choose a pole flag. If the pole has a horizontal banner arm, choose a banner flag. Use the custom-format flag when you require dimensions or finishing that are not available as a standard option.

What is the difference between Flag, Flag PET and Flag Longlife?

Flag is the standard polyester fabric. Flag PET is made from recycled PET bottles. Flag Longlife has a stronger, more open structure that helps reduce fraying and can provide a longer usable life in demanding outdoor conditions.

Which side should the finishing be placed on?

The position of the tape, hooks, cord or sleeve depends on the mounting direction and the side of the building where the flag will be installed. Check the required left- or right-side finishing carefully before placing your order.

Can facade flags remain outside in strong winds?

We recommend bringing flags inside during severe weather and from approximately wind force 6. Strong wind places additional stress on the fabric, seams, pole and holder and can considerably shorten the lifespan.

Can I wash a printed facade flag?

Most polyester flag fabrics can be washed at a maximum of 30°C using a mild detergent. Allow the flag to dry fully before reinstalling or storing it. Check the product instructions first, particularly for double-sided Banner 610 flags.
