Description

Ordering a tension fabric print? Choose the right material.

Printing a tension fabric print? Then choose the right material that fits your requirements. Should the tension fabric print be suitable for an illuminated LED frame? Will you use the tension fabric print exclusively indoors or will you place it in an outdoor textile frame? Below we briefly explain the different tension fabric print properties; this way you can quickly and easily make the right material choice.

For an LED frame:

  • Samba Backlit: Polyester fabric with a UV print. This gives Samba Backlit intense color reproduction. Specially designed for clarity and vibrancy in illuminated LED frames.
  • LumiTex: This tension fabric material consists of 100% polyester. It is manufactured with extra fine yarns and features a double layer of ink, making it perfectly suitable for use in illuminated applications.

Differences between Samba Backlit and LumiTex
The difference between Samba Backlit and LumiTex is mainly related to the printing technique. Samba tension fabric print is provided with a 200% UV print fabric and LumiTex involves a 200% sublimation print. The disadvantage of a UV print is that the double ink layers emit a (temporary) strong odor. LumiTex, on the other hand, is odorless and wrinkle-free.
In addition, the print on LumiTex fabric is also slightly more durable compared to Samba Backlit. The inks used are water-based. Furthermore, LumiTex (just like Samba Backlit) is also PVC-free and recyclable.

The final characteristic difference between the two fabrics is that Samba Backlit has a coating. Thanks to this coating, Samba Backlit can also be used outdoors for short periods. LumiTex is only suitable for indoor applications.

For a textile frame:

  • Dekostof: Flexible polyester fabric with a fine structure and powerful appearance.
  • Dekostof Blockout: Light-blocking polyester fabric with a black back and B1 certificate.
  • Structex: Structured fabric of heavy quality polyester with a cotton look.
  • Velours: High-quality polyester with a low pile, for a velvet-soft appearance.
  • Blackback Soft: Polyester block-out fabric with a black back
  • Blackback XL: Polyester block-out fabric with a black back, ideal for large formats.
  • Decotex UV: Flexible polyester fabric with a fine structure and powerful appearance, perfect for large formats.

Frequently asked questions about tension fabric prints

How do I ensure I have the right size?
To ensure you have the correct tension fabric print size, you should always measure the outside of the frame.

What does the seam look like if I divide my tension fabric print?
This is a stitch, similar to the seam of, for example, a hem or tunnel.

Is it also possible to supply tension fabric prints in contour?
This is possible! Round and oval fabrics can currently be supplied via a quote.

What should I do if there are creases in my tension fabric print?
When placing the tension fabric print into the frame, tension is applied to the material. As a result, the creases will pull out of the fabric on their own. Please note that this may take a few days.

How do I install a tension fabric print?

To install a tension fabric print, first start by attaching the frame to the wall. Then you can apply the tension fabric print by first attaching all corners, starting with the top corners. Then gently press the remaining fabric into the frame.
